We did this kind of thing as university. Just not in an easy to create and edit way, like Wordle.

Google vs. Me

Google Street View is remarkably similiar to one of my ideas for a final year project.

The idea was to take photos of important road junctions and landmarks, from a road view, so that people who dislike using maps, could see what turnings they'd need to take, rather than try to convert a 2D plan into the real world.

The tutor I pitched it to, didn't like my idea. Said it wasn't something people would use or something. Instead, I adapted it, into a past and present format.

Oh well. It's not the first time.

Plenty of ideas I, and the groups I worked with, had at university seemed to have been copied by someone else, in a slightly different way.

I'm not paranoid. Really.

The future of the internet?

If you haven't already heard, the internet may be in trouble. An open source film has been produced, detailing the What, Why, Who, How and Whens.

However, in typical internet fashion, it isn't made explicitly clear, that it is only in the US that AT&T wish to take a cut. My understanding is that the rest of the free world would have to avoid .coms based in the US, or else pay a fee to access the site.

It's a very silly idea, as I can't imagine personal websites asking users to pay a fee to view their moronic and narcissist online journals.

But I can see Facebook, Myspace or Youtube, requiring a subscription charge.

Le Chat Noir

Devonport Underground

Le Chat Noir, The Hulas, Shoot The Duke and The Alpha Dogs played Devonport Undergrond last night.

Unfortunately, because I'm a fool, I only took batteries that were running out/dead, so only took photos of Le Chat Noir and sat down the front attempting to sing, whilst trying to stay awake (I'd had about 16 hours sleep, over the last three days).
